Personalised Family Name Hand Painted Sign

Hello and thank you for looking at this beautiful handmade and hand painted House Sign.

PLEASE NOTE: Once you have placed an order I will contact you to find out what information you would like on your sign, what colour you would like your text and any other information I may need to complete your order.

Each House Sign is made to order by me in my little workshop at my home in Nottinghamshire with my dog Ted snoring in the background.

Each sign takes around 1 week to produce start to finish and here is why...

DAY 1 - 18mm wood is cut to size and sanded. and given its first coat of stain to the front and sides.

DAY 2 - The sign is given a light sand and then another coat of stain is applied.

DAY 3 - The sign is given a final sand and a final coat of stain.

DAY 4 - The back of the sign is given it's first stain.

DAY 5 - The back is given a light sand and another coat of stain.

DAY 6 - The back of the sign is given its final sand and final coat of stain.

DAY 7 - SIGNWRITING DAY!!! This is the day that I draw on the text using a Stabilo Chinagraph pencil to make sure the spacing and text height is correct and then once I am happy I hand paint the lettering with a sable hair brush and oil based enamel paints.

DAY 8 - Your sign is ready to be posted.

Obviously this a rough timescale, drying times can vary depending on atmospheric conditions and I also take a day off here and there :-)

I will also send a computer placement mockup of the lettering for your approval before work begins on your sign to make sure you are happy with the proposed placement.

Font colours can be found on this ad. I normally add a little red heart for dots of letter 'i's.
